Project Brief
Data Center/Disaster Recovery Facility is located in New Jersey and is a 21,000 square foot facility that was constructed for a cost of $19,000,000. TMG designed the electrical system, including the integration of a 2,250-kilowatt diesel emergency generator, a 1,500 KVA UPS system, with 100% redundancy, fourteen natural gas-fired microturbines, two 210-ton absorption chillers, two 750-ton electric chillers (with provisions for an additional one), a 3,000-amp electrical service.
This was built to be a fully suppressed building, with a dry chemical clean agent system in the sensitive data areas.
The fourteen microturbines provide electricity for the facility as well as cooling, by utilizing the turbine heat to run the absorption chillers.
The work was completed in 2009; an NDA prevents us from mentioning them by name.
